Foals and Young Stock

The previous breeding season have provided some welcome changes seasonally with better pastures for our foaling mares. Fortunately all of our mares, except for one, have returned positive pregnancy tests for this year. We have been delighted with the quality of the youngsters that have been produced for the 2010 season. Two of our youngsters N. Beyonce (Nandeye Resistance X Soda Highlights S.O.D. Warrenbri Romeo) and N. Solitude (Bryjen Fort Talon X Nandeye Capri S.O.D. Soda Falcon) are being prepared for the Fountain of Youth Sale at the ASHS National Championships in May 2011. The 3 y.o. colt by Mark Field’s Romeo stallion, Ocean Blue performed well in the 3 y.o. Futurity at the National Championships while his younger full brother Nandeye Ambition has recently won several events at ASHS shows.

Phillip Smith is also enjoying competing with the 3 y.o. Nandeye Prophecy (N. Resistance X Kirkbys Stud Josie). Our yearling colt Nandeye Connect (Hazelwood Conman X Nandeye Reflect displays a lovely temperament while our Soda Justice filly from Reflect’s full sister N. Replay has handled up well.

2010/11 Foals:

Nandeye Cygnet Bay Weanling filly. Expected to mature 15.00hh +. D.O.B. 01.11.10

Sire: Ocean Blue (Warrenbri Romeo X Tecoma Casuarina) Dam: Nandeye Portrait (S.O.D. Ocean Wave).

This filly has classic breeding as she carries the legendary Romeo bloodlines from both her sire and her maternal grandsire and Docs Freckles Oak is her paternal grandsire. As well her pedigree contains a double cross of Elliots Creek Cadet plus Eagle bloodlines from her dam and Regal from her sire. Her granddam Tecoma Casuarina is a lovely tempered mare that has been ridden by all members of the Field family. Joanne Field won a hack at National level while Mark Field was awarded Reserve Champion Working Horse at the State Breeders Championship. Breana Field at 13 years of age won the Junior Campdraft at the 2005 National Championships and also the Junior Campdraft at the State Youth Show and as well the Highest Point Score on this mare. She has also performed well at Polocrosse for the Field girls. Cygnet’s young sire Ocean Blue is by the legendary Romeo and is producing quality progeny with the oldest being 4 y.o’s. An Ocean Blue gelding Nandeye Rhythm performed well in the 3 y.o. National Futurity in 2010 and his full brother Nandeye Ambition as a 3 y.o. recently won his working class at Grafton 2011 ASHS event and then went on to win the Superhorse competition against strong Open competion which included the facets of hack, working, campdraft and two- handed cutting. Nandeye Brigalow

Chestnut Weanling Colt. Expected to mature 15.00hh +. D.O.B. 10.10.10

Sire: Ocean Blue (Warrenbri Romeo X Tecoma Casuarina). Dam: Kirkby’s Stud Teak (S.O.D. Admiral Oak)

A very attractive chestnut colt with white markings carrying Warrenbri Romeo bloodlines from his sire and a double cross of Docs Freckles Oak bloodlines from his paternal granddam and maternal great grandsire. His other grandsire Admiral Oak was very athletic and brilliant cutting horse. His maternal granddam Polo Lass (X Abdul) is the dam of Kirkbys Stud Theo, winner of both National Futurity in 2004 and National Maturity in 2005. This colt has already had some handling, can be gelded and is bred to perform in a variety of horse events.

Nandeye Boeing

Brown Weanling Colt with white blaze; Expected to mature 15.00 to 15.1 hh.

Sire: Willdraft Jet (Soda Justice X Ocean Midnight). D.O.B. 28.10.10 Dam: Ocean Dawn (S.O.D. Ocean Demise). This colt is the first foal to have been sired by the young 3 y.o. sire Jet, and has a double cross of Warrenbri Romeo and Elliot Creek Cadet bloodlines plus Chan and Real Bobby. He has top performance mares and sires in his pedigree with both grandsires Ocean Demise and Soda Justice being Open campdrafters and challenge winners. His granddam Ocean Midnight was a performed campdrafter and winner of Champion Working classes at elite level and was also the dam of Willdraft Ignite, a National Maturity and Cloncurry Challenge winner. His maternal great granddam, Strathmua Saphire, ridden by Mark Field was a state polox representative that was awarded Best No 2 and Best ASH in the Colts Series against New Zealand in 1988 and was the dam of the well performed Ocean Wave and Ocean Demise. Ocean Dawn showed exceptional ability as a polocrosse mount prior to injury and also won the Novice Campdraft at the Australian Campdrafting Championships in 2000. This colt has had some basic handling and has a quiet temperament. Boeing can be gelded if required and is an outstanding prospect for campdrafting and polocrosse.

Nandeye Tides

Black Weanling Colt with white star; Expected to mature 15.1hh +.D.O.B. 09.10.10

Sire: Ocean Wave AI. (Warrenbri Romeo X Strathmua Saphire) Dam: Tecoma Casuarina ( S.O.D. Docs Freckles Oak)

A striking colt with great presence and excellent conformation, bred AI by the great Ocean Wave (dec) and carrying top performance bloodlines. Ocean Wave is the sire of Nandeye Reflect, a winner of Supreme Workings, Led classes, Champion Hack, ASHLA, and Open Challenges at National Championships. She won campdrafts and was awarded the National Maturity and Prince of Wales Trophy in 2003 for outstanding performance. He is also the grandsire of Willdraft Reflection, winner of the Cloncurry Challenge in 2011. Tides’s dam Casuarina has won Hacks and Working classes at National and State shows. She has been an outstanding Junior’s mount with Breana Field winning the Junior Campdraft at the 2005 Nationals and also at the State Youth Show where she also won the High Point Score with this mare. This colt will be handled and is a potential sire and should excel in any field of horse competition.

Nandeye Noble

Chestnut Weanling Gelding. Expected to Mature 15.00hh. D.O.B. 03.08.10

Sire: Ocean River Oak (Docs Freckles Oak X Strathmua Saphire) Dam: Nandeye Regal Beauty (Nandeye Reebok X Yarramine Robyn)

This colt, has attractive white markings and should make a versatile show gelding. His dam was not shown due to injury but is a half sister to the highly performed Nandeye Reflect and is also the dam of Nandeye Rhythm and Nandeye Ambition which are performing very well for the Frazer family. His sire River Oak won Champion Working at the 2000 National Championships and won a cut-out at the National Campdrafting Championships. His granddams were both highly performed with Nandeye Robyn being a winning ASH showmare at elite level and Strathmua Saphire highly performed at State level in polocrose. His full brother sold for $4,400 as a yearling gelding at the last Fountain of Youth sale in 2010. Noble has been handled by teenage girls, and has been gelded and has great performance potential.

Nandeye Haze

Blue Grey Weanling Gelding – small star. Expected to mature 15.2hh.

Sire: Ocean Blue (Warrenbri Romeo X Tecoma Casuarina). D.O.B. 02.08.10 Dam: Yandina Holy Smoke (S.O.D. Tiger Joe). An attractive gelding that displays T.B. qualities inherited from his maternal granddam who carries the bloodlines of Biscay and Latin Lover. On his sire’s side his pedigree carries the famous bloodlines of Docs Freckles Oak and Warrenbri Romeo. Romeo needs no introduction and his paternal granddam Casuarina has won Hacks and Working classes at National and State shows. She has been an outstanding Junior’s mount with Breana Field winning the Junior Campdraft at the 2005 Nationals and also at the State Youth Show where she also won the High Point Score with this mare. His dam Holy Smoke is an attractive mare and won led and hack classes at elite level and as a youngster just after she was broken in she won a champion working class at Branch level in Queensland. Haze has already been gelded and handled and should make a successful show gelding.

Nandeye Charm

Chestnut Weanling Filly – star. Expected to mature 14.3 – 15.00hh.
Sire: Nandeye Resistance (Resistol X Yarramine Robyn) D.O.B. 26.10.10 Dam: Soda Highlight (S.O.D. Warrenbri Romeo)
This filly shows outstanding quality like her older sister Beyonce being offered for the Fountain of Youth Sale in 2011. She is bred in the purple with two crosses of Reality bloodlines through Warrenbri Romeo and Seventy Seven Revenge plus Rosebrook Abou, Yarramine Swagman and T.B. lines of Dickens in her pedigree. Her sire, Resistance is highly performed at the top level in led, working and hack at Royal State and National level, was 2nd and State winner in 2006 ASHS National Futurity. He is also a half brother to the elite performance and campdraft mare Nandeye Reflect. Her dam is sired by the great Romeo who needs no introduction .This filly will be handled, is a definite future show filly and should excel in any discipline. Currently retained in stud due to death of sire.

Nandeye Impressions

Sire: Nandeye Resistance (Resistol X Yarramine Robyn) Dam: Nandeye Image (S.O.D. Adios Reflect).
An extremely attractive filly with white markings and showing T.B. qualities. Her dam Image stands at 15.3hh and was a big winner as a youngster in led classes, is a very quiet mare and showed athletic qualities when broken in but was immediately retired to the broodmare herd. Her first foal by Ocean Blue has reportedly broken in well. Image’s dam Regal is a half sister to the highly performed Nandeye Reflect and is also the dam of Nandeye Rhythm and Nandeye Ambition which are performing very well as youngsters for the Frazer family. Her sire, Resistance is highly performed at the top level in led, working and hack at Royal State and National level, was 2nd and State winner in 2006 ASHS National Futurity This filly carries the sought-after bloodlines of Adios Reflect, a double cross of Seventy Seven Revenge as well as a double cross of the performed showmare and great broodmare Yarramine Robyn. Impressions has the potential to make a great show filly and will be handled. Currently retained in stud due to death of sire
